CD Review: Black Stone Cherry Return With "The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea"

Hard rockers Black Stone Cherry just released their new album entitled "Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea". It is the band's third album with Roadrunner Records and their second album to debut in the Top 40 of Billboard's Album chart.

The album starts off with the hard, gritty rocker "White Trash Millionaire". It is the first single released from the new album and has reached the Top 20 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart. The lead guitars of Chris Robertson just electrify the song. The band sticks with the down and dirty sound of "Killing Floor" before giving us a more southern rocker with "In My Blood". Lzzy Hale from Halestorm is featured on guitar and backing vocals on the songs "Such A Shame" and "Won't Le Go". The band's signature sound comes shining through on the catchy chorus of "Blame It On The Boom Boom". Black Stone Cherry gives us some more great southern rock on their original "Like I Roll" and a heavier cover of the Marshall Tucker Band classic "Can't You See". The band shows us their energy and passion on "Change" before closing with the acoustic "feel good" song "All I'm Dreamin' Of".

The new album was produced by famed producer Howard Benson (Theory of a Deadman, Daughtry, Three Days Grace). The band will be on tour beginning July 1 and will finish up in mid-September as part of the Carnival of Madness 2011. For a complete list of tour dates and album information, please visit
