CD Review: Hellyeah "Band" Together For The Perfect Metal Album

Heavy metal supergroup, Hellyeah are preparing to release their third studio album entitled “Band of Brothers.” The album will be available on July 17 through Eleven Seven Records and was produced by Jeremy Parker (Godsmack, Evanessence). While the band’s first two albums crossed metal with country rock, this new release is 100% metal, which is what fans have been waiting for Hellyeah. This album has the perfect balance of Pantera, Mudvayne, Damageplan and Nothingface.

The album hits you right in the face with the aggressive opener “War In Me.” The renewed energy in this band is felt in the party anthem “Drink, Drank, Drunk” and “Call It” as Vinnie Paul’s drumming is just mind blowing. The dark overtone of the title track, “Band of Brothers,” is executed perfectly with the vocals of Chad Gray and duel guitar attack of Greg Tribbett and Tom Maxwell. Bob Zilla’s bass groove in ”Bigger God” just motors the song, while “WM Free” is exactly what we have come to expect from this talented band.

Hellyeah are currently on the road promoting the new album with shows out west. They have a few shows scheduled along the east coast in mid-July, so visit for a complete list of dates.
