From Philadelphia comes The Elwood James Band with their
debut EP. These five songs have a very retro sound. The keyboard solo on the
opening track, “Rain” gives the song a sixties rock vibe, while the big drums
and guitar riffs make “Nobody Rolls” sounds like classic rock from the
seventies. The band draws some similarities to Styx on “Love At All,” before
finishing with the keyboard driven “Kinda Lost.”
The band’s new album is available now through iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-elwood-james-band-ep/id447799605)
and they have a show scheduled for August 3rd in Doylestown, PA. For

From across the pond in Britain comes the band Howe with a
new 3-song EP entitled “Bolt From The Blue.” The title-track starts out live a
Velvet Underground song then builds up to a hard rock groove as the band shouts
out the chorus. The band’s upbeat pop sound on “It’s Not Such A Surprise,” is
indeed a surprise as they go the way of Oasis instead of an edgier sound as the
opening song lead up to. The EP closes with the great guitar riffs of “Lost
Generation.”
Howe has two shows lined up in August. Please visit
