Legendary rockers Aerosmith recently released their
fifteenth studio album, “Music From Another Dimension!” on November 6th.
It is the band’s first album of new material in over eleven years. In those
past eleven years, the band has seen some highs and a lot of lows, many of them
seem to involve lead singer Steven Tyler. He’s had to get a hold his addictive
personality, which almost cost him his position in the band, but on the
flipside, Tyler introduced Aerosmith to a whole new generation through his
stint on American Idol. But now the band is back together as one huge monster
of classic rock and blues.
The new fifteen song album contains all the ingredients that
have made Aerosmith the powerhouse they are today. Beginning with the
straight-up rock of “Luv XXX,” you instantly remember how great this band
sounds together. They try to combine the bluesy rock of “Out Go The Lights” and
“Closer” with the pop sounds of “What Could Have Been Love” and “Can’t Stop
Lovin’ You” as the album fluctuates with the up and down tempos. The songs that
save this album from being another throwaway Aerosmith album is the fast-paced
heaviness of “Street Jesus” and the classic Aerosmith sound of “Lover A lot.” Guitarist
Joe Perry gets his turn on the lead vocals in “Freedom Fighter,” but it’s the
combination of drummer Joey Kramer, bassist Tom Hamilton and guitarist Brad
Whitford that makes the songs all work as a complete album.
They finish this release with the piano ballad “Another Last Goodbye,” which
shows us why Steven Tyler is the one and only true front man of this truly exceptional
band.
Aerosmith are currently on the road, promoting the new
album. Dates run until mid-December, but look for more dates to be announced
soon. For more information, please be sure to visit aeroforceone.com.
