Speaking of cover songs, the album starts off with a blazing rendition of The Faces' "Bad 'n' Ruin," which allows Gogo to flex his guitar muscle peeling off riffs. He gets a little bluesy with the title song, before picking the tempo back up with "Call Your Name" and "Kings." He dives back into the cover songs, giving new life to the Atlantic Rhythm Section's "So Into You" and adding a little blues flair into "Let's Go Get Stoned," made famous by Ray Charles. The album closes with a couple of Fleetwood Mac's lesser known hits, the pop sway of "Spare Me A Little Of Your Love" and the stand-up and take notice guitar-drivin "World Turning."
David Gogo has a load of live dates in Canada, beginning this Friday with a CD Release show at the Hermann's Jazz Club in Victoria, BC. To find out more about this outstanding musician, please visit his website at davidgogo.com.
