CD Review: Hard Rockers Emphatic Ask For Another Chance With "Another Life"

From the Midwest comes the return of Emphatic with their sophomore album "Another Life" on Epochal/Capitol Records. This follows their 2011 debut album "Damage" which was a top ten hit on Billboard's Heatseekers Album chart. After the tour in support for the debut album had ended, the members went their separate ways. The only original member, guitarist Justin McCain, was left with the task of rebuilding the band, beginning with former Fuel vocalist Toryn Green. His vocals are perfectly made for this hard rock adventure.

The album starts off with the edginess of "Life After Anger" as the band's sound is captured perfectly with new, fresh hard rock energy. The assault keeps coming with "Time Is Running Out," until they pull back the reigns for the power rock ballad "Some Things Never Die." They continue with another powerful rock anthem in "The Choice" and keep the adrenaline pumping on the dark lyrics and musical heaviness of "I Don't Need You." Emphatic slowly build-up the chorus on the sure-fire hit rock single "Louder Than Love," before closing with the powerful blast of "Remember Me."

Emphatic took most of this year off, so look for them to hit the road in 2014. For more information on the new album "Another Life," please visit
