CD Review: The Fratellis New Album Keeps Your Eyes Wide Open And Your Tounge Tied

Scottish rock band The Fratellis return with their fourth release "Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied" through the independent label Cooking Vinyl. They are looking to rebound from their dismal 2013 release "We Need Medicine" by bringing back Tony Hoffer to produce this latest album.
The new eleven-song release begins with the highly contagious rhythm of the album's lead single "Me And The Devil" as you can sense a band on the verge of recapturing their former glory. The country/rock strumming of "Imposters (Little By Little)" has a great sing-along chorus that easily draws you in, before returning to rock you with the album's second single "Baby Don't You Lie To Me!" The quick pace of "Thief," mixes together an alternative rock sound with a dance/pop rhythm and lyrics to make this a strong possibility for a single release. They follow the perfect formula as laid out before them by Coldplay and Matchbox 20 for pop ballad gold with "Slow." The album finishes with the funky rhythm of "Getting Surreal" and gentle jazziness of "Moonshine." The Fratellis will be heading out on tour beginning August 15th, then heading to the U.S. in mid-September. To find out more about their latest release "Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied, please visit
