Australian hard rock trio Wolfmother blasted onto the music scene in 2005 with their self-titled debut release. It won numerous awards including a Grammy in 2006 for "Best Hard Rock Performance." It reached #3 on the album charts in their home country (#22 in the U.S.) and has been certified gold by the RIAA. The original 13-song, North American release begins with the starling screams of lead singer/guitarist Andrew Stockdale in the opener "Dimension." The album garnished six singles worldwide, including the massive rock radio hit "Woman" and the high-powered popularity of "Joker & The Thief." They incorporated many different rock genres into their sound including punk ("Apple Tree"), grunge ("Pyramid") and doom metal ("Colossal").
For the 10th anniversary of this outstanding release, Interscope/Universal Music Enterprises is releasing a two-CD, two-LP vinyl vinyl of the album. It will include B-sides, unreleased demos, remixes and live tracks, some having never been released before in the U.S. The double-vinyl will feature the complete album along with four bonus songs pressed on 180-gram heavyweight vinyl.
The bonus tracks included with the original album on the first disc and with the vinyl are the B-sides which includes remixes of the singles "Woman," "Joker & The Thief" and "Love Train." The real nice additions is the studio track "The Earth's Rotation Around The Sun" and an acoustic version of "Vegabond." Now the second CD features almost entirely unreleased demos and live versions of many of the songs from the original album. The stand-out tracks are the eight-minute construction of "White Unicorn," the early raw jam of "Pyramid" and the quick, intense live delivery of "Tales From The Forest Of Gnomes."
