The
husband and wife duo of Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks have done a
masterful job filling the void in the southern jamband community left by
the retirement of The Allman Brothers Band. They have released three
albums since beginning five years ago and their latest album titled "Let
Me Get By" features their strongest set of songs yet.
The new
ten-song album begins with the Allman Brothers Band-clone, "Anyhow" as
Susan's vocals become the highlight of the entire album. Guitarist Derek Trucks
definitely makes his presence known, when necessary with his outstanding
slide guitar in "Laugh About It." The band gets funky with the
swamp-blues of "Don't Know What It Means" and brings together a
Dixieland jazz approach to "Right On Time." Susan continues to amaze with
her wonderful talents as she belts out the vocals for "Let Me Get By"
and leads the choir during the congregation of "Just As Strange," before
bringing down the intensity for the laid-back, southern groove of "Hear
Me." The album wraps up with the horn infused New Orleans flavor of "In
Every Heart."
The
Tedeschi Trucks Band will be heading out on the road to promote that new
album, beginning February 18th. For a complete list of tour dates and
