The
California hard rock band Rival Sons recently released their fifth
studio album titled "Hollow Bones" on June 10th through Earache Records.
Their sound captures the essence of the British blues/rock of the
seventies with huge guitar riffs, bashing rhythms and impulsive soulful vocals.Rival Sons are currently on tour, opening for Black Sabbath on their final farewell
tour.
The new
ten-song release clocks in just over 37-minutes, but that is all the
time you will need to fall in love with this new album. Beginning with
"Hollow Bones, Pt. 1," guitarist Scott Holiday blows you away with his
raw, grinding guitar riffs as lead singer Jay Buchanan fills the open space
with his vocals. Rival Sons dig deep into the blues of "Tied Up," while
drummer Michael Miley and bassist Dave Beste motor through "Thundering
Voices," before Holiday rips the roof off with his electrying solo. They turn Ike
& Tina's "Black Coffee" into soulful rock, injected with a shot of
adrenaline in order to make the impact shock your senses. Rival Sons
wrap up their new release with the nearly seven-minute hard rocking jam
of "Hollow Bones Pt. 2" and a view of their gentler side with the acoustics of "All That I Want,"
which allows you appreciate Jay Buchanan's emotional vocals.
Rival
Sons will be returning to the U.S. in mid-August to continue their tour
with Black Sabbath. Be sure to catch them one one of these upcoming
dates. You will not be disappointed. To find out more about their new
