CD Review: Adam & The Ant ReClaim Their Title Of "Kings Of The Wild Frontier" With New Deluxe Edition

Many U.S. music fans may consider Adam Ant a nostalgic act, since his last major hit was in the early nineties, but he is riding a new wave of success that began almost five years ago. After headlining a few festival slot in 2012, Adam Ant released his first new album in 18 years to rave reviews ( Since then, he has received a re-growth in his popularity, selling out a U.K. tour earlier this year and he will be making his way across the U.S. in early 2017. All this is to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Adam & The Ants break-through album "Kings Of The Wild Frontier."

On June 3rd of this year, Sony Legacy released a 2CD Deluxe Edition of the album as well as a box set of the album, which contained the rare, out-of-print DVD "Ants In Japan" concert video. The new deluxe edition of the album features the original running order of the album along with the bonus tracks from the 2004 reissue of the album. Fans will really enjoy the second disc which contains Adams & The Ants captured live in Chicago in 1981. A concert that has been previously unreleased on CD. Along with the "Ants In Japan" concert, the DVD also contains videos for the songs "Kings Of The Wild Frontier," "Dog Eat Dog" and "Antmusic." Also included are clips of Adam & The Ants live in Manchester and also shows them performing on the BBC shows, Top Of The Pops and the Old Grey Whistle Test.

After their recent sold-out U.K. tour, which included an appearance at the Isle of Wright festival with The Who and Iggy Pop, they will be invading the U.S. beginning January 23rd. On this tour, Adam Ant will be performing the entire "Kings Of The Wild Frontier."
