Jazz music label MoonJune Records was recently voted as the fourth best jazz label in the world, according to the readers of "Downbeat." To celebrate that accomplishment, MoonJune Records owner Leonardo Pavkovic released a new 25-song compilation featuring some of the best and brightest artists on the label.
The new release begins with the twelve-minute epic jazz-fusion piece "Pasar Klewer" from Indonesian-born artist Dwiki Dharmawan. The new release continues with the avant-garde feel of "The Wrong Object" from Saturn and the progressive rocker "Soft Works" from Baker's Treat. This new compilation is filled to the brim with great independent jazz music, including Mark Wingfield's "A Conversation We Had" and Soft Machine Legacy's "Kings & Queens." This new release also highlights artists like guitarist Dewa Budjana ("Erskoman") and bassist Hugh Hopper ("Some Other Time") as well as classic bands like Holdsworth Pasqua Haslip Wackerman ("It Must Be Jazz").
