The Texas-based duo of Season Ammons and Allen Rayfield (better known as The Wide Open) are preparing to release their brand new studio album on January 12th, titled "Long Road Home." They have built up their fan base the old-fashion way by performing over 200 shows a year as this award-winning combo produces some of the be independent country music in the land.
Their new album kicks off with the title-song "Long Road Home" as the up-tempo, funky groove will certainly get you excited about the duo's new music. The album continues with the honky-tonk, countrified rock of "Feel Alright," before slowing down for the swaying ballad "Raining In Memphis" as you begin to get lost in Season's vocals. Allen works his way onto the album delivering the weathered, lead vocals of the acoustic/folk ballad "Not My Father's Son," before the duo pick the tempo back up with the classic bluegrass/country feel of "Ol' Missouri." The album wraps up with the laid-back, acoustic blues of "Rainy Day Serenade" and the beautiful ballad "I Never Knew."
