Austin-based country/blues artist Jeff Plankenhorn will be releasing his new album "Sleeping Dogs" on May 4th, through Spike Steel Records. The album features 11-tracks and includes contributions from fellow artists Patty Griffin and Ray Wylie Hubbard. He begins with the up-tempo bluesy guitar rocker "Sleeping Dogs" as his sound carries a seventies rock vibe. He lays off the rock energy for the sweet acoustics of "Love Is Love," before Ray Wylie Hubbard joins Plankenhorn for the blues shuffle of "Tooth And Nail." The wonderful ballad "Holy Lighting" is highlighted by the vocal contribution of Patty Griffin as you will instantly fall in love with this song. Plankerhorn picks the energy back up with the pounding rhythm and slide guitar of "Never Again" and "Piece Of Cake" before closing his new album with the acoustic blues of "This Guitar" and country/bluegrass feel of "Heaven On Earth."
