Growing up in a post-hair metal Los Angeles, Michael Orlando set his sights to the heights. His band received a record deal, toured the world and he was living the rock and roll dream, until a bus accident changed everything. After nearly dying, Michael reassessed his career and decided to rebuild his musical empire, beginning with his new band, Dead Girls Academy. They will be releasing their new album "Alchemy" on June 15th, through Victory Records. The new 11-song release begins with the explosion of "Medicine" as Michael picks up right where he left off. The album continues with the intensity of "Forever" and the pounding of "No Way Out" as Dead Girls Academy have their finger on the pulse of modern hard rock music. The band unleashes an aggressive sound on "Everything," as if they still have something to prove. The band wraps up their new album with the dark, electronic grunge metal of "Devil On My Shoulder" and the mainstream, electronic rock appeal of "Far Away." Arriving May 25th on Metalville Records is the debut solo album from Nils Patrik Johansson titled "Evil Deluxe." Johansson, who started out as a drummer, found his way as a singer with the band, Astral Doors and was influenced by some of the best heavy metal singers like Ronnie James Dio, Glenn Hughes and David Coverdale. Johansson's new 12-track release begins with the thunderous rhythm of the title song "Evil Deluxe" as you can instantly hear the influences in his singing. He quickens the pace with the Black Sabbath-type feel of "Estonia" and the chugging guitars of "Gasoline." The high-powered energy continues with "September Black" and the classic metal appeal of "Burning," which shows Nils appreciation for the early days of heavy metal. He wraps up his new album with the grand, orchestral metal sound of "Circle In The Sky" and the slower, experimentally odd piece "A Waltz For Paris."
