North Carolina-based roots reggae band Chalwa recently released their new album, "Concentration Time." It features a diverse line-up of local musicians that help out on this new high mark for the band. The new 10-song release begins with the gentle, laid-back sway of "The Journey" as Chalwa seem to not be in a rush as you begin to feel relaxed. The band preach about the good things with "Life Goes On," before delivering classic, old-school island vibe during "Fire." The harmonies during the chorus of "Starting At The Sun" are wonderful as Chalwa look to quicken up the pace for the dance vibe of "Beating Of The Drum" and the album closer "BassBalls." Sixties underground rock legends the Chocolate Watchband have recently released two brand new singles, "Judgement Day" and "Secret Rendezvous." Since reforming back in 1999, Chocolate Watchband have only released two albums, but are continuing to roll-out singles that have been recorded in the studio over the past year. The song "Judgement Day" past homage to their psychedelic past as the song has a bluesy tilt to it that sounds straight from the sixties. The other single, "Secret Rendezvous" sounds straight from the band's early, garage rock days as they flex their raw, rock muscle and this exciting new song.
