Collective Soul bassist Will Turpin will be releasing his full-length debut solo album "Serengeti Drivers," on June 8th through his own label, Gooey Records. It was recorded at his father's studio, Real 2 Reel, which is the same place where most of Collective Soul's multi-platinum debut album was recorded. His new 11-song release begins with the classic, seventies rock tones of "Demons" as Will's vocals have a rich, textured quality to them. He uses a more modern rock approach to the energetic "All On You," before slowing the tempo down for the soulful ballad "Make It Home." Will also dabbles in a bit of country with the gentle pace of "On And One," then plugs back in for the guitar rock frenzy of "One And Done," which showcases the full force of his band. Will Turpin finishes up his new album with sonic, energetic, alternative rock assault of "Belong" and the inspirational ballad "Final Score." Singer/guitarist Sam Pace returns with his band, the Gilded Grit for their third studio album titled "Judgement Eve." It was released on June 1st, and features eleven eye-opening tracks that combines the best elements of blues, rock and funk, beginning with "Punch'em In The Ear." The thick, heaviness of Pace's guitar is smeared all over this opening track and also the follow-up country blues of "It All Comes Back To You." The rawness of the "Undertow" and the talking blues of "What Did She Do" will certainly have you grooving to the funk-based rhythm of this new album. The swift pace of "He Loved Her" is the last shot of energy, before Sam Pace and the Gilded Grit close out their new album with the blues of "Better Start Getting Along" and the quieter, nostalgic feel of "Love And Anger." Singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Robbie Gennet recently released a new album of all original songs, titled "Gleams." It features 7-tracks, beginning with the odd tempo of "Feel" as you are introduced to this new set of experimental songs. Gennet quickens the pace for the post-punk, alt-pop feel of "The Camera's On" and "Running Away" as you will find yourself being drawn into his musical style. The grand, energetic feel of "Come My Way" sounds as if it came from a Broadway musical, before Robbie Gannet wraps up his new album with the addictive power of "Rainbow" and the Elton John-type closer "Electric Skies."
