As the dogs days of summer continue to march on, there are a bunch of new, independent heavy metal releases arriving from Peace Of Mind, Worst, Eisberg, I Am Revenge, World Demise, Never Back Down and Relations. First up, arriving August 24th, is the third release from German hardcore metal band, Never Back Down. Their new release titled "Black & White" features 10-tracks that combine hard rock melodies with growling vocals and chugging guitars, as displayed in the title song "Black & White" and in "March." Their album, "From Birth To Death" follows this new nine-song release that leads up to that final resting place as the songs take on a progressive metal feel with the chord changes of "Resistance." The rhythm hits hard on the doom metal appeal of "Dirty Sanchez - Redux" and you can feel the screams of "Hangman (Hanging By A Thread)," before reaching the epic closing number "To Death." The songs are short and concise and hit their mark as with "Lone Wolf" and "War Never Changes." Each song follows the same musical formula, while the intensity, speed and screams will get your adrenaline pumping, as in "Betrayal" and "Until The Gavel Falls."
