First from Sweden comes the latest studio album "Headstorm" from alternative rockers, Abandoned By Bears. It is the band's forth album in only six years as they continue to grow with each new release. They begin their new album with the modern, alternative/punk-like energy of "So Far Gone" and the mainstream rock appeal of "Headstorm," which showcases the band's maturity on their latest Victory Records release. The band continues to roll out the energetic anthems of "Strangers" and "Borderline," as the intensity continues to grow with each song. Abandoned By Bears finish up their new album with mainstream, steady pace of "Outrun Reality" and the exciting sonic, heavy metal blast of "Greyscale." Swedish rock band, Wheel In The Sky will be releasing their second full-length album "Beyond The Pale" on August 31st. The new 9-track release begins with the seven-minute journey of "Rivers Of Dust" as the band's sound carries a classic seventies, progressive rock vibe. Wheel In The Sky keep the energy going with the guitar driven rockers "Beyond The Pale" and "Invisible Eyes" as you begin to notice a theme of "death" amongst the songs. The album continues with the progressive feel of "Burn Babylon Burn!" and "The Only Dead Girl In The City," before closing their new album with the eight-minute intense, high-energy rock piece "The Weight Of The Night." Lastly we meet the Madison, WI trio, Wood Chickens, who recently released their new 5-song EP "Must Die." The songs are short, concise and rocking as the album kicks off with the raw, punk energy of "Sados" and "We Skate In Boots." Wood Chickens waste no time with the 28-second blast of "Y2K Pt. 2," before closing up their new release with the experimental track "Untitled."
