Canadian duo, The Blue Stones are preparing to release their eOne debut album "Black Holes" in October. Guitarist/vocalist Tarek Jafar and percussionist Justin Tessier have known each other since they were kids, but were not serious about music until attending the same university. Now, their new 11-track album begins with the shuffle, blues/rock groove of "The Drop" as you notice that the saying "less is more" comes true on this release. Their sound is raw and electrifying as in "Black Holes (Solid Ground)," as you begin to feel very attached their music. The songs "Be My Fire" and "Rolling With The Punches" feel as if these two artists have been around for years, showcasing their blues influences within their songwriting, while also maintaining a modern sound. The Blue Stones wrap up their new album with the funky rhythm breaks of "Little Brother" and alternative rock approach of "Magic." Heavy metal trio, High On Fire will be releasing their eighth studio album "Electric Messiah" on October 5th, through the eOne music label. This album celebrates the band's 20th anniversary as High On Fire dedicate this album to the late, great Lemmy of Motorhead. They begin their new nine-song set with the intense, aggressive power of "Spewn Of The Earth," as vocalist Matt Pike delivers the vocals in rapid, Lemmy fashion. The album continues with the pounding rhythm of the nine-minute epic "Steps Of The Ziggurat/House Of Enlil" and the ten-plus minute prog-metal adventure "Sanctioned Annihilation." The trio finish up their new album with the quick pace of "God Of The Godless," which will get your adrenaline pumping, before the blues/metal shuffle of "Drowning Dog," inspired by today's media follies.
