John McLaughlin and Jimmy Herring Team Up For New "Live In San Francisco" Release

English guitarist, John McLaughlin (Mahavishnu Orchestra) was embarking on his final farewell tour of America and invited his friend Jimmy Herring (Widespread Panic) to join him on his trek. One stop in particular was extra special, as it featured McLaughlin's first appearance there in 36 years. The historic Warfield Theatre always held a special place for his former band, Mahevishnu Orchestra, and this new live release will bring John McLaughlin's career full circle.

The new "Live In San Francisco" album features 8-songs, including the iconic tracks "Trilogy" and "Eternity's Breath." These two amazing guitars come together perfectly on the album's opening track "Meeting Of The Spirits" and find their notch within the "jamband" groove of "Birds Of Fire." The music just floats through the ten minutes of "Dance Of Maya," as Herring and McLaughlin come together as one. The set closes with the quick paced, jazz tempo of "Be Happy," as this new release is the perfect testament to the career of John McLaughlin.
