Award-Winning Singer/Songwriter Gurf Morlix Travels Into The "Impossible Blue"

On February 8th, singer/songwriter/producer Gurf Morlix will release his tenth studio album titled "Impossible Blue." Gurf has worked along side artists like Lucinda Williams, Robert Earl Keen and Ray Wylie Hubbard before stepping out on his own back in 2000. Now, nearly 20 years after the release of his debut album, we get Gurf most personal album that takes a look a mortality with his Americana-style of the blues.

The new nine-song release begins with the southern bayou boogie shuffle of "Turpentine," as Gurf's rough vocals are a perfect fit to tell us these life's tales. He slows down for the mellow blues of "2 Hearts Beating In Time," before picking the tempo back up for the howlin' guitar of "My Heart Keeps Poundin'." The classic blues rhythm of "Silver Of Light" sounds like the perfect soundtrack about being on the road traveling from city to city, while "I Saw You" just melts your heart. Gurf Morlix wraps up his new album with the emotion-filled "Backbeat Of The Dispossessed" about the passing of a dear friend and musical partner.
