Carlos Santana Returns To The Spotlight "In Search Of Mona Lisa"

Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana recently released a brand new EP titled "In Search Of Mona Lisa." The title was inspired by Santana's encounter with the Leonardo da Vinci painting while on tour in Paris. Carlos said he felt a connection to the painting and wanted to put his feelings into music, creating the songs "Do You Remember Me?" and "In Search Of Mona Lisa" from a dream he had.

The album opens with the nearly ten minute musical journey, "Do You Remember Me?," which starts out with Carlos Santana laying down a delicately, beautiful guitar solo. The duo of Andy Vargas and Ray Greene deliver the Spanish language vocals, as you can feel the admiration Carlos had for the painting. The band continues with the more pop-oriented, up-tempo swing of "In Search Of Mona Lisa," as Santana's guitar work highlights the stellar job of Cornell "CC" Carter on vocals. Bassist Ron Carter (Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis) leads the way on the R&B flavored instrumental "Lovers From Another Time," before Santana closes out their latest album with edited versions of the album's first two tracks.

Santana is currently performing a string of shows at the House Of Blues in Las Vegas, before heading out on a tour of Mexico in March. For a complete list of live dates and to find out more about Santana's new album "In Search Of Mona Lisa," please visit santana.com.
