Styx drummer, Todd Sucherman has been a member of the band for over 25 years and is releasing his debut solo album "Last Flight Home" on May 2nd (Todd's birthday) via Aqua Pulse Records. It features ten tracks that find Sucherman stepping out from behind the drum kit to sing lead like his early influences such as Ringo Starr and Phil Collins.
The album begins with the title-song "Last Flight Home," which has the perfect British rock melody, which Todd fell in love with as rising young artist. The British rock has become a been a part of Todd's songwriting DNA by listening to bands like The Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin and XTC. The nature of the song "Ad Lib Everything" has a progressive rock appeal, while "It's Perfection" is pure adult contemporary pop gold, with its addictive chorus and uplifting vibe. Todd Sucherman does also know how to rock out on this album, as displayed in the song "The Damage," before closing with the emotional ballad "Do You Know Me" and the quiet, atmospheric flow of "Kindling."
