Omnivore Recordings Release The Rare Audition Tape Of Laura Nyro

On September 10th, Omnivore Recordings will unveil the audition tape from legendary songstress Laura Nyro in a new release titled "Go Find The Moon: The Audition Tape." It features eight tracks, including one of Laura Nyro's most famous songs "And When I Die," which Blood, Sweat And Tears turned into a top 5 hit single in 1969. That song starts off this new release, as Laura' vocals will simply blow you away with strength and purity. The set continues with a false start to "Lazy Susan," which will be performed later on during this recording.

Supported by just a piano, Laura' voice will no doubt grab your attention on the lovely ballad "Enough Of You," before she jazzes up her audition up with the sultry delivery of "Go Find The Moon." Omnivore Recordings keep in some of the studio talk between Laura and A&R man Artie Mogull, who asks her to play some jazz standards. Mogull would eventually become her first manager of a career that would surpass three decades. The 18-minute tape finishes with Laura returning to complete her breath-taking performance of "Lazy Susan."
